I decided to put this up a little early. I’m close to hitting 10-years since buying this old place. Many times, especially during 2020, I wasn’t sure how this would all work out or if it even would. With God’s grace, mercy, & blessings, I’m looking forward to another 10 plus many more. In conversations with clients, loved ones, & acquaintances, 2024 seemed to carry over blessings & provision from 2023 but also difficulties such as only life throws at us, illness, loss of loved ones, financial hardship, political fatigue & much in between. Personally, it’s been a rough couple of years. I received many blessings, but had a few injuries, that resulted in a few recovery processes as well as a concussion then to round out this year I got slammed with a steel gate, which led to an infected tooth & emergency extraction as well as a second broken tooth. Hopefully, all resolves nicely. The phrase, “the good, the bad & the ugly” seem to apply.

As always, I learned many valuable lessons, but the big one is that I’ll be taking better care of myself so I can be more involved with my loved ones & be healthier for my four-legged clients & their chauffeurs.

In all the nonsense of the world, I pray we can each find peace & healing.

Weather

The play yards are outdoors with some rain & shade protection; dogs can choose to be wherever they wish to be within their assigned yard. Depending on number of dogs, I create 3 different groups based on a variety of factors to keep everyone happy & safe. There are weather conditions where dogs are brought up to smaller areas or even put in the boarding area but because daycare dogs are here to run fast & play hard, I only bring dogs inside if raining consistently heavy or too windy. I do rotate dogs in/out when too cold for dogs to stay out for very long. The more rain we have, the more muddy the yards become even under the cover. Please be prepared to transport wet & possibly, muddy dogs. After the initial introduction/trial day, which is by appointment, it's up to the owners, to decide when you wish to bring dogs in for daycare. My goal has always been, for happy dogs to run fast & play hard while here & to have happy dogs coming & going.

Most dogs who do well here are those who want to run fast & play hard.

Telephone & Phone Tag

While assisting clients, & supervising dogs, incoming calls, will likely, go to voicemail; this keeps traffic moving as daycare & boarding guests are checked in & out.

We try to return calls within a short time, the same day but it may take a day or two. If you haven't heard back please leave another message or send an email to classydogs@fastmail.com. If you haven't received a reply to email, please check your SPAM or JUNK folder. I've received email from "classy dogs" when it's not related to this business. I suspect others are getting the same unsolicited emails & marking them as SPAM. Technology is great when it works, and as we all know, there are many scammers and spammers.

We do respond to phone messages & emails except those from solicitors. There are, occasional, voicemail issues so if you haven't heard back we may not have received your message or connection was unclear.

While pets are with us, whether just for daycare or longer term boarding services, if something is unusual or we see signs or symptoms, of possible illness, we notify owners & seek appropriate veterinary treatment, as necessary. We certainly don’t want owners to be left unaware or for something to go unchecked. IF there is something contagious we want to slow or stop it, if possible, as quickly, as possible.

We do occasionally get calls from owners saying their pet is coughing after they’ve been home from boarding. Please know if we are, or were, seeing or hearing signs of upper respiratory within the facility, owners would be advised, & veterinary advice, sought.

Since about 2017, I’ve kept a pet-safe blend of essential oils in diffusers, in the boarding areas.

Because of this, we are, likely not hearing or seeing any signs of upper respiratory symptoms. This doesn’t mean there is no possibility of illness; just that we’re not seeing or hearing signs of it.

We’re always accepting dogs for both daycare & boarding so there’s possibly,

a risk, just like starting a new school or new job.

We have dogs who come for daycare daily & some every few weeks, depending on owner’s schedule. We have dogs who board sometimes every weekend & some only once or twice a year. Regardless, of our client’s schedules, my small team and I want our guests to be happy and healthy.

Vaccination information can be emailed to classydogs@fastmail.com; there is no way to attach vaccination information to the Service Agreement.

We can now accept reservations year-round, again. We still have our weight limits in place; about 10 lbs to 90 lbs. This is because larger to giant size dogs won't be comfortable in our boarding areas. We need a bigger building in order to make a separate area for teacup-size dogs. We would love to be able to expand but zoning restrictions limit possibilities.

There is solid rain protection in 2 yards but dogs still choose to be undercover or not, rain or shine. When downpours or windstorms occur, dogs will be brought in under cover for safety or rotated in & out of the boarding area.

In warm weather, sun shade sails & sprinklers & misters are used. Please be prepared for transporting wet, possibly muddy, dogs. If daytime temperatures reach to triple digits, it's recommended to keep daycare dogs at home, if possible. If daytime temperatures are at, or below, freezing, it is recommended to keep daycare dogs at home, if possible. We will rotate boarding & daycare dogs in & out of the boarding area; this area stays cool enough in summer & warm enough in winter. Cooling fans & heat are on appropriately.

**Grooming is no longer provided; we're unable to bathe dogs before going home. If you wish nails trimmed during the stay, please let us know at check-in.
